Kraft Mac and Cheese

It was a busy weekend and my roommate and I have an addiction to macaroni and cheese. However, I made some modifications that will make this blog post worth while.

Ingredients:
Box of Mac and Cheese
1/4 cup of Almond milk
1 tablespoon of garlic herb butter
Hot sauce (optional)

Wait for the water to boil, and add the Macaroni.

Set the timer for 12 minutes. I find that it usually cooks faster than it claims, so keep an eye on it.

While the macaroni boils, prepare the butter and measure out the almond milk.

When the macaroni is finished cooking, strain the pasta.

 Add the butter...

... add the milk.

And finally, add the cheese mix.

I like to put it back over the heat, so the milk doesn't cool it down before serving.

Mix it all up!

Serve! Goes very well with Siracha Hot Chili Sauce!

You would think that macaroni and cheese from a box would be a no-brainer. However, I have found over my college years that it is actually much tastier with almond milk. I also modified ingredient list from the box. I added a bit more milk, and a little more butter also. This was the first attempt at using the herb butter and it was for sure a good decision. My roommate and I have already made a note on our grocery list to be sure to get more of it. We also went to three different grocery stores before we found our favorite hot sauce. It was well worth it!
